04/15/07: Tapestry Garden Scarf Pattern

Just in case you want to try knitting your own wavy garter stitch short row scarf, here is my made up pattern. I called it Garden Scarf simply because of the colors I used.



Yarn: Rowan Tapestry: 2 balls, Rowan Kid Silk Haze: 1 ball (optional)
Needles: US 7's
Gauge: Not all that important since it is a scarf.

This scarf is knit holding both yarns together throughout.

Begin:
Cast on 20 stitches.
Knit 6 rows.

Short Rows:
Row 1: Knit 17 sts, Slip 1 purlwise, Wrap Yarn (bring yarn in front), Turn
Row 2: Slip 1 purlwise, Knit to end of row
Row 3: Knit 16 sts, Sl1 purlwise, WY, Turn
Row 4: Sl 1 purlwise, K to end of row
Row 5: Knit 15 sts, Sl1 purlwise, WY, Turn
Row 6: Sl 1 purlwise, K to end of row
Row 7: Knit 14 sts, Sl1 purlwise, WY, Turn
Row 8: Sl 1 purlwise, K to end of row
Row 9: Knit 13 sts, Sl1 purlwise, WY, Turn
Row 10: Sl 1 purlwise, K to end of row
Row 11: Knit 12 sts, Sl1 purlwise, WY, Turn
Row 12: Sl 1 purlwise, K to end of row
Row 13: Knit 11 sts, Sl1 purlwise, WY, Turn
Row 14: Sl 1 purlwise, K to end of row
Row 15: Knit 10 sts, Sl1 purlwise, WY, Turn
Row 16: Sl 1 purlwise, K to end of row
Row 17: Knit 9 sts, Sl1 purlwise, WY, Turn
Row 18: Sl 1 purlwise, K to end of row
Row 19: Knit 8 sts, Sl1 purlwise, WY, Turn
Row 20: Sl 1 purlwise, K to end of row

Closing Short Rows:
Row 21: Knit 9 sts, S1 purlwise, WY, Turn
Row 22: Sl 1 purlwise, K to end of row
Row 23: Knit 10 sts, S1 purlwise, WY, Turn
Row 24: Sl 1 purlwise, K to end of row
Row 25: Knit 11 sts, S1 purlwise, WY, Turn
Row 26: Sl 1 purlwise, K to end of row
Row 27: Knit 12 sts, S1 purlwise, WY, Turn
Row 28: Sl 1 purlwise, K to end of row
Row 29: Knit 13 sts, S1 purlwise, WY, Turn
Row 30: Sl 1 purlwise, K to end of row
Row 31: Knit 14 sts, S1 purlwise, WY, Turn
Row 32: Sl 1 purlwise, K to end of row

Rows 40-45: Knit

Repeat Rows 1-45 until desired length is achieved.

Bind Off all stitches.
